So the past few days really haven't been the best they could have been. Shitty days at work (including working a closing shift for a $11,000+ day and a delivery that involved grid-lock traffic and stingy clients), problems with the neighbors, and not seeing The Dark Knight a second time (lol) all were thorns in my side as of late.
But the biggest one had to have been my laptop. As I tried turning it on the other day, it just refused to boot up. This has happened to me before, so it was nothing new. The hard drive was messed up, and with good reason. I have a ton of music, and my photos take up a bunch of space. Luckily, I had everything backed up on a CD from the previous time I went there. Everything else is on my external hard drive. After I tried fixing it myself (which usually doesn't work; if anything it'll make things a bit worse), I brought it to the Apple store. They said they would put on a brand new hard drive and operating system, so that was exciting. Except the part that my music would be lost, and it would wind up costing me over $180. Thanks to my iPod having my entire library and third party software programs that allow me to rip my songs/playlists onto iTunes, I dodged that bullet. When I picked it up a few hours later, they wound up not charging me for the repair; they said it would be complimentary. Oddly, my laptop was out of the warrantee already. Though, I did mention that this was the second time it happened in two months; they did the exact same thing they did the last time. Then there was a whole deal about my Apple Care plan and whatnot.......I forget what they said.
The point is this: I spent no money on my laptop repair. Though my songs are lost, I'm currently ripping them back onto iTunes (I'm on the "G" artists at the moment).
Aside from all that, I've been okay. I managed to head to the beach last week with Jori and Walter. Catching a few rays (then a short and strong storm) was just what I needed. Hopefully, I'll be seeing more beach time.
I'll probably get to the "I" or "J" artists before I call it a night. I've got a 7AM open shift tomorrow, then all afternoon to myself. Good ol' summer.
